Red Floral Dress

Location: Cantor Arts Center at Stanford University

We had some glimpses of warm spring weather over the last week here in the San Francisco Bay Area and I love any opportunity I can get to throw on a dress and go bare legs!  This red floral fit and flare dress by Calvin Klein fit the bill perfectly for our day out visiting the Cantor Arts Center at Stanford University.

Museum History:
The Cantor Arts Center's diverse collections span continents, cultures, and 5,000 years of art history and include one of the largest presentations of Rodin bronzes outside Paris.  It first opened its doors to the public in 1894 and was known as the "Leland Stanford Junior Museum".  Privately founded by the Stanford family, the museum exhibited a general collection of art from around the globe.  By the turn of the century, it was the largest privately-owned museum in the world.  The building itself is an architectural tour de force with a rich history of growth, success, and devastating setbacks caused by the catastrophic San Francisco earthquakes of 1906 and 1989.  The earthquakes caused irreparable damage to many of the art collections and the museum was badly damaged in both events causing it to periodically close down to the public.

Today, the museum is thriving, reconstructed, and revitalized thanks to art enthusiasts in the surrounding community, volunteers, and the dedication of Stanford University faculty and staff.  In 1999, it reopened as the Iris & B. Gerald Cantor Center for Visual Arts.  If you’re planning a visit to the San Francisco Bay Area and enjoy visual art, I would highly suggest adding this to your list of things to do.  The admission is free and the art collections are magnificent.

As you may know, I am a big fan of Calvin Klein dresses.  I recently wore a few other CK dresses in these posts herehere, and here.   I picked out this dress back in November and thought it would be perfect for the holidays.  I love the fit and flare sleeveless style which is extremely versatile for all seasons.  The trick is to add layers in the winter, such as tights and a trench coat.  In the warmer months of spring you can wear it alone with a cute pair of sandals or heels like I did for this particular warm day.  I kept my accessories to a minimum bringing along my black leather Kate Spade handbag  found here and wearing my favorite black bow heels. I have my eyes on a few other Calvin Klein dresses for spring.  I currently have these ones in my shopping cart here, here, and here.

I hope you all enjoyed the President’s Day holiday and were able to get out and do something interesting or fun!  There are so many places to visit in our local area so I am trying to make it a point to get out with the family and explore as much as possible!

Xoxoxo,

Hayley

Tropical Jogger Pants

Location: Hyatt Grand Cypress - Orlando, FL
It's been a while since I have posted on my blog.  Honestly, I have been super busy lately with my boys going back to school and a promotion at my job.  Our family has also been grieving with an unexpected loss...so sometimes... more important events have to take priority in life.  However, I hope you all follow me on my Instagram account.  If you don't, stop by and say hello and let me know that you follow along!  I post there almost every day and I would love to follow you back!

I'm throwing it back to summer on the blog today with these colorful tropical print jogger pants. by Bar III.

They are super lightweight and comfortable and packed perfectly for my recent trip to sunny Florida.  I love to be comfortable when I travel and have clothes that are completely versatile from day to night.  I chose a casual look for my day out exploring which included a morning bike ride, a casual outdoor patio lunch with friends, and spending some time poolside to soak in the Florida sun!  My daytime look included these black studded sandals, a straw hat, a casual tank top and a sheer sleeveless button up blouse that kept the whole look easy and breezy.

When the sun goes down and you are ready to change the look for a night out on the town, add a pair of heels such as these one here or here, a cute peplum or crop top, and a sleek clutch.  Don't forget to polish off your look with a little sparkle such as this simple and classy twisted orbit cuff bangle I picked out from Helen's Jewels !

Enjoy Shopping!

Paradise Palm Romper

Location: Hyatt Regency Grand Cypress, Orlando, Florida
I recently took a trip to sunny Orlando, Florida where I had an opportunity to stay at the beautiful Hyatt Regency Grand Cypress Hotel.  Located just 18 miles from the Orlando International Airport and minutes from the Disney World Magic Kingdom main gate in the Lake Buena Vista area, this grand luxury hotel is a secluded tropical oasis getaway.  Whether you enjoy golfing, tennis, spa services, or a relaxing day at the pool, the Hyatt Grand Cypress includes it all.

It's also a fabulous place for the kids, offering a variety of family fun activities including Camp Hyatt, bike, kayak, and paddle boat rentals, outdoor movie nights, marshmallow roasting, rock climbing, water slides, and a jet splash zone to name a few!  You can check out all of the family fun activities here!  Believe me, you will want to take a break from Disney just to enjoy all the fabulous amenities this hotel has to offer!

When packing for my Orlando trip, I knew I had to bring clothes, shoes, and accessories that were going to keep me cool in the hot and humid climate as well as exude that colorful and tropical vibe that you think of when you think of Florida!  This paradise palm shorts romper set was one of the first outfits I grabbed to put in my suitcase!  I love the tropical palm print pattern and the shorts and tank top were a great option to keep me cool when the temperatures began to rise!

I decided to go with a simple pair of ankle strap black sandals on my feet.  Here are some other fabulous shoe options here, here, and here.   I accessorized with these Gucci sunnies to keep the sun out of my eyes and accessorized with a straw fedora hat and bag! Check out some of these fabulous straw bags here, here, and here and similar hat styles here and here!  As always, you can check out the full outfit deatils and similar accessories below.  What I love about this outfit is that it's so simple to accessorize and is appropriate to wear from day to night!

I hope you all are having a great week so far!  There's only a few more weeks left in summer, can you believe how quickly it's flying by?  I plan to enjoy every last minute of it and hope you are too!

Enjoy Shopping & Your Travels!
