Valentine's Gifts for Her

Today on the blog, I'm sharing some of my favorite Valentine's Day gift ideas for her!  I made it pretty simple so you can shop all of these gifts at one store... Nordstrom!  One stop..one shop!  Who doesn't love that?  I also included gift ideas for every wallet size, so there is something here for everyone to enjoy!

A dozen roses, some chocolates, and/or wine are always greatly appreciated!  However, just like kids at Christmas, everyone loves to unwrap a personable surprise!

I hope you all have a little extra something special planned for the upcoming holiday!  If you happen to be single, what a better way to make an excuse to treat and pamper yourself to something nice!

Enjoy shopping!

Instagram OOTD Roundup: Week of January 19, 2015

Today on the blog, I am sharing my weekly #ootd roundup from my Instagram page.  Check out my daily "outfit of the day" photos and if you see something you like, you can shop it directly below each photo or visit my Shopstyleit page!

I know it's still January...but is it too early to wish summer weather was here already?  I live in the San Francisco Bay Area and our winters are very mild to say the least.  We've had a major water drought for two years now and really could use another rain storm like the one we had in late November/early December (minus the flooding).  However, mother nature has other ideas.

I spent this past weekend celebrating my father in law's 84th birthday at one of his favorite restaurants, Sam's Chowder House.  Located on Highway 1 in Half Moon Bay, this classic seafood house is known for their infamous clam chowder, lobster rolls & outdoor patio dining overlooking the Pacific Ocean.  The weather on Saturday was absolutely gorgeous...73 degrees, sunny, and very spring like.  After dining, we spent some time frolicking on the beach with the kids and watched the surfers ride the waves.  The views of the Pacific Ocean are absolutely breathtaking and the sunsets are incredible.  If you plan on visiting the San Francisco Bay Area, I highly suggest you make reservations in advance and plan to stop and dine at this local favorite restaurant.  Bring your bikes and take a ride up the coast.  You will not be disappointed.

I hope you all have a fantastic week ahead!  Enjoy shopping & your travels!

Hayley

The theme from this past week was all about rest, rejuvenation, romance, and relaxation!  January is a good time to recharge your battery and pamper yourself!  One of my favorite ways to relax is a hot bubble bath with candlelight and soft spa music.  I am sharing some of my favorite Lush spa essentials below.  Have you ever tried their bath bombs?...Ah...mazing!

Don't forget to treat yourself and your significant other with a little romance too!  Breakfast in bed is always a good idea!  Make sure you have all the necessary essentials to snuggle up under the covers and make this a special treat! It's perfectly fine to stay in your jammies all day with messy hair and no makeup!  Just don't forget the coffee!

Are you planning for Valentines Day yet?  If you are looking for that perfect dress, look no further than the Alfred Sung collection available at Nordstrom!  Check out some of my favorites below!

Last but not least, go out and enjoy a cocktail or try that new restaurant you have been wanting to go to!  Make it a date or family night out!  We cook dinner all week...its nice to let someone else do the preparation, serving, and clean-up!  My family recently visited Sammy's Island Bar & Grill in Roseville, CA and the food and staff were spectacular!  Saturday & Sunday feature brunch service and there is always live entertainment on Friday & Saturday night!  I highly recommend the RedHead Mai Tai!

I hope you are all enjoying your week so far!  Make sure you schedule in some rest, relaxation, or romance into your busy life this week!  Your soul will thank you for it!

Instagram OOTD Roundup: Week of January 5, 2015

In looking at photos from this past week the theme seemed to be cozy knits and scarves!  It's all about keeping your hands, tootsies, head, and neck warm from the frozen temps outside!  Winter necessities such as mittens, scarves, beanies, wool socks, sweater tights, leg warmers, etc. are my primary accessories this time of year!  I also like to wear clothes that can be layered such as vests, collared shirts, and turtle neck sweaters.  That will make it easier to peel back the layers once you get inside and warm up.

I hope you are all enjoying your week so far!  Enjoy shopping and keep warm!

Cold Hands Warm Heart

When I meet someone for the first time and shake their hand, I always apologize up front for my cold hands.  I guess what they say is true..."cold hands, warm heart".   Old Man Winter has definitely settled in over the past few days and BRRRR....it's cold!  I have been layering all of my winter knits to keep warm but one thing I don't go without when I leave the front door is mittens for my hands!  I like to think of mittens as another accessory - similar to an "arm party" or "wrist candy" and the more whimsical the better!

I have selected a bunch of my favorite mittens on the blog today!  Some are more about the whimsy and the holidays and others are more about function rather than fashion!  Which pair is your favorite?  There are some major sales happening now on holiday themed winter accessories...it's a great time to pick those up for next year!

Enjoy shopping!

Instagram OOTD Roundup: Week of Dec 28, 2014

Happy New Year everyone and welcome to my first blog post of 2015!  I hope you all had a fabulous New Years Eve and celebrated with champagne and confetti...or if you are like me...champagne, my couch, and New Years Rockin Eve with Ryan Seacrest and my family!
It's been a busy few weeks but I am actually happy that the holidays are over.  I had some time off work and was able to get a little organizing and cleaning done around my house.  I put away all holiday decorations, took down the Christmas tree, and packed it all up again for next year.

It's a good time of year to go through your closets and purge clothing, shoes, and accessories you really haven't been in love with over the last year.  I was able to put together 8 bags of stuff for Goodwill and dropped it off before the end of the year for my annual goodwill tax write-off.  I also spent some time cleaning and organizing my house.  It feels good to start the new year off feeling organized with a deep cleaned house!

Today on the blog, I am sharing my weekly #ootd roundup from my Instagram page.  Check out my daily "outfit of the day" photos and if you see something you like, you can shop it directly below each photo or visit my Shopstyleit page!

I really enjoyed seeing everyone's sparkly, glittery, sequins outfits from their New Years Eve festivities!  I recently celebrated my birthday shortly after the new year!  After all the celebrating and fun filled festivities over the last few weeks, I am ready to slow down a bit and focus on my goals for the coming year.  I am still finalizing them but one I know I will be starting right away is exercise and working out!  I don't know about you, but I gained 9 pounds since October!  Time to shed off that winter weight!  What are some of your goals for 2015?

Enjoy Shopping & Happy New Year!
