Twirl Worthy Floral Frock

Labor Day is unofficially the last weekend of the summer season.  It's a great time to get together with family and friends to enjoy a barbecue, have a pool party, and delight in the last few hot, sunny, blue sky days the season has to offer.  We are lucky here in the San Francisco Bay Area, as the best weather of the year is typically in September and & October, when summer transitions into fall.

Although I am looking forward to the arrival of autumn and transitioning my wardrobe to cooler and hopefully wet weather ahead, I will miss so many lovely things that summer brings each year - the taste of sweet watermelon and strawberries, the smell of freshly cut lawn and blooming roses, longer days that end in golden sunsets, and warm evenings by the outdoor fire pit making s'mores with the kids.

Today I am wearing a beautiful spring/summer inspired floral print dress by Maggy London.  I love the fit and flare style made in a cool stretch cotton material,  The floral palette includes soft colors of lavender, pink, green, and cranberry on top of a crisp white canvas.  Pair this with a colorful cardigan and matching flats when the days get a little cooler.  I opted to wear it with my favorite pair of lace up espadrille wedges and minimal accessories to truly show off the painterly floral pattern.

I hope you all have a happy, memorable, and relaxing Labor Day holiday!  Enjoy the unofficial last weekend of the summer by getting outdoors and making some fun memories with your family and friends!  Also, don't forget to check out those great Labor Day sales!

Enjoy Shopping!

Lace Trend

One of the biggest fashion trends that emerged this past year is the delicate, feminine, and romantic look of lace.  Lace is a classic and historical texture that has been used in lingerie and clothing for centuries.  This past year, it made a welcome comeback in fashion showing up in delicate accent details and dainty trims.  Today, I am sharing a gorgeous ivory lace scalloped dress from one of my favorite designers – Adrianna Papell

Adrianna’s single mission is to design clothes that “make every woman feel beautiful...with an artisanal attention to detail, her collection is infused with and elegance and flair that empowers women of all ages and silhouettes to feel their best”

I love this dress from the romantic satin trim pinched waist to the rolling scalloped detail on the hem and sleeves.  It works well for any occasion – a baby shower, a date night out, a birthday celebration, or to wear in the office.  Today’s look is inspired by summer paired with lacey bow detailed wedges and minimal accessories to complete the look.

Are you inspired by the lovely and romantic look of lace?  I have done some shopping and am sharing some of my favorite lace dresses below.  I hope you all are having a terrific weekend!

Enjoy Shopping!

Windsor

Hello everyone!  I took a much needed summer vacation break and tried to focus on disconnecting as much as possible to spend quality time with my family!  The kids go back to school next week so we decided to take them on a fun trip to Disneyland for a few days.  We had a blast as we always do at the "Happiest Place on Earth"!  We had lots of exercise - walking an average of 10-12 miles per day between the two parks and the hotel, enjoyed lots of yummy food and treats, did a little bit of shopping, and even received official “Jedi” training certification!  It was a fun way to spend the last week of summer before my kids go back to school this Monday!  I will share some of the highlights from our trip on the blog soon!

Now it’s back to work and time to start blogging again which I missed tremendously over the last week and a half!  Today’s outfit is all about neutrals and stripes and a new favorite store!  I picked up this adorable black and tan striped skirt at the Windsor Outlet on my shopping excursion to the Outlets at Orange.  I got a steal of a deal on this twirl worthy skirt paying only $11.99!  I thought the colors would be perfect for the upcoming fall season and you really can’t go wrong with neutrals as they go with just about any color!  I decided to pair this outfit with my leopard flats because leopard is my favorite neutral and a simple black cardigan because sometimes the air conditioning in my office is a little chilly!

If you have never shopped at Windsor, you should definitely check it out!  They have amazing styles and very reasonable prices!  I am sharing a few of my favorite picks from their collection below.

Enjoy shopping!

Hayley

Designer or Deal?

I’m starting a new series on San Francisco Bay Style called “Designer or Deal”.  Don’t get me wrong, I love designer fashion, style, and labels.  However, sometimes I want to create a fabulous designer look for a fraction of the price.  In this series, I’ll be featuring designer products such as clothing, shoes, and accessories and sharing similar items I’ve found that achieve the same look and keep more cash in your wallet!  I hope you enjoy following along whether you are a budget conscious shopper and/or a designer diva!

One of my current shoe cravings is the slip on sneaker in leopard print.  I have seen these all over the web and in stores lately and have been coveting a pair for a while.  Leopard is on-trend again this year and these look fabulous when you want to add a little pop of animal instinct to your casual style!

During my lunchtime Target run today, I caught a glimpse of leopard in the women’s shoe section.  Of course, I quickly steered my cart over to investigate.  There, hanging on the wall, next to all the cute tennis shoes, flats, and summer sandals, were a pair of leopard sneaker slip on’s made by Mossimo.   I found my size and checked the tag – they were only $16.99!  I knew I had to get them and couldn’t resist getting a red plaid pair as well!

Can you tell which one is the designer version and which one is the deal?  If you’ve been craving a pair of slip on leopard sneakers just like I have you may want to visit your local Target store and give the similar style by Mossimo a try!  You will save a ton of money compared to the designer brands and still achieve the designer look for less!

Have fun shopping!

Hayley

My Favorite Nordstrom Anniversary Sale Purchases

What were some of your favorite purchases from the recent Nordstrom Anniversary Sale?  This is my favorite sale of the year because I love fall fashion and getting a sneak peek of the upcoming season styles!  I was really happy to see that plaid and riding boots are still on trend for fall 2014!

This “Two by Vince Camuto” mixed media sweatshirt is one of my favorite finds from the sale!  The comfortable slub-jersey pull-over has a sheer woven front in a vibrant tartan plaid print and a zipper running up the side adds a little extra detail.  You will love this shirt!  I recommend you size down as it does run large and you will want to consider a base layer to wear underneath due to the sheer material in front.  I wore mine with a black tank top.

I decided to pair this with some simple black leggings and riding boots.  These Tory Burch “Teresa” riding boots were another one of my favorite purchases from the sale!  I have always loved the look of refined equestrian style and these boots fit the bill perfectly.  Sporting the iconic Tory Burch logo in gold, buckled ankle straps, and made of rich tumbled leather, these classic boots will be an easy go-to staple for every day wear.

I would love to hear about the great deals and styles you picked up at the recent Nordstrom Anniversary sale!  Send me your pictures – I love outfit inspiration!  If there is a product or service you would like to see featured on San Francisco Bay Style, please let me know.  I hope you all are having a great week so far!

Hayley
