Tropical Jogger Pants

Location: Hyatt Grand Cypress - Orlando, FL
It's been a while since I have posted on my blog.  Honestly, I have been super busy lately with my boys going back to school and a promotion at my job.  Our family has also been grieving with an unexpected loss...so sometimes... more important events have to take priority in life.  However, I hope you all follow me on my Instagram account.  If you don't, stop by and say hello and let me know that you follow along!  I post there almost every day and I would love to follow you back!

I'm throwing it back to summer on the blog today with these colorful tropical print jogger pants. by Bar III.

They are super lightweight and comfortable and packed perfectly for my recent trip to sunny Florida.  I love to be comfortable when I travel and have clothes that are completely versatile from day to night.  I chose a casual look for my day out exploring which included a morning bike ride, a casual outdoor patio lunch with friends, and spending some time poolside to soak in the Florida sun!  My daytime look included these black studded sandals, a straw hat, a casual tank top and a sheer sleeveless button up blouse that kept the whole look easy and breezy.

When the sun goes down and you are ready to change the look for a night out on the town, add a pair of heels such as these one here or here, a cute peplum or crop top, and a sleek clutch.  Don't forget to polish off your look with a little sparkle such as this simple and classy twisted orbit cuff bangle I picked out from Helen's Jewels !

Enjoy Shopping!

Spring Break Weekend with Mara Hoffman

What are your plans for this last spring break weekend of 2015?  Well I hope you are getting out and enjoying some beautiful sunny spring weather.  As it begins to warm up more, I have been thinking about bathing suits.  It's been a while since I bought a new bikini and its really hard to envision myself in one right now.  I still have some winter weight to shed off, my legs are as white as a ghost, and I need to get to the gym for some serious toning!  However, all that aside, bikini shopping in the spring is a great source of motivation to get to the gym and shed off those extra pounds!

As for what I'm loving in beachwear right now...Mara Hoffman!  I adore her colorfully designed clothing, swimsuits, and accessories!  This stunning and bright one piece reversible lace up swimsuit is the perfect style for me.  I love the lace up detail on the back of the suit, the higher waist line (a hot returning trend in swimwear right now), and the cut out detail on the sides.  Add a beautiful cover-up such as this Mara Hoffman whisper weight black georgette beach dress.  I love the colorful and vibrant embellishments around at the neckline and back and the draped slit front style which is perfect for any day at the pool or on the beach!

Don't forget your beach day accessories!  Always wear a hat to protect your face from the damaging rays of the sun as well as plenty of sunscreen!  I love the black bow detail on this straw hat  as well as this one.  Both are perfectly versatile to go with just about anything you wear!  Also, make sure you throw a pair of sunnies in your beach bag!  I have always been a huge fan of the Ray Ban aviators and these ones are my favorite!  Last but not least, pack a cute pair of embellished sandals to complete your beach day look!  Check out the these darling styles here, here, and here!

Feel free to shop all of my Mara Hoffman picks below as well as some additional beach/resort style accessories!  Enjoy your spring break weekend!

Blue Jacquard Dress

Happy Wednesday everyone!  I had a 2 day work and now I am officially off for spring break along with the hubby and my boys!  We decided to have a "staycation" this time.  Sometimes it's nice to just stay home...catch up on those projects that have been on your honey do list all year round, veg out and catch up on your favorite television shows that have been waiting for you on your DVR, or just sit back, relax and enjoy a good book to read!  However, before I begin doing all of the above, I wanted to share my most recent spring dress purchase from Nordstrom!

Designed by Betsey Johnson, this beautiful light blue damask-patterned jacquard dress is a perfect addition to your spring wardrobe. The fit and flare silhouette is one of my favorite designs!  Once you put it on and zip it up you'll want to grab your high heels and do a few twirls in front of the mirror (at least I did!)  I love the dainty cap sleeves and the exposed back-zip closure.  This dress is fully lined and made of 100% polyester.  Based on the recommendations, if you are between sizes order one size up as it runs a little small.  I normally wear a size 6 but ordered a size 8 which fits perfectly!

Oh by the way, this dress is currently on sale and did you know that Nordstom will price match?  That means if you find it anywhere for a lower price, Nordstom will honor that price!  That way you get the great deal, the excellent customer service from Nordstorm, and don't forget points towards your Nordstrom Notes!

I hope you all are having a great week so far!  I would love to hear from you!  In the comments below, please make sure you list your social channels or blog url so I can follow along too!

Enjoy Shopping!

Hayley

My Kate Spade Obsession

Some of you may already know this, but I am Kate Spade’s biggest fan!  To be honest, my fascination with Kate Spade started about one year ago when I began to use Instagram!  Fashion bloggers and fashionistas alike posted their photos showcasing her feminine style and of course her signature bows, spades, and polka dots!

My Kate Spade Obsession:

At first, I became obsessed with her jewelry…my very first purchase and #katespade Instagram post was a navy/white striped gold bow bracelet.  I paired it with a polka dot raincoat and learned that combining stripes and polka dots is called “pattern mixing”.  I received a lot of compliments and a huge response to this outfit post…and so my love for Kate Spade jewelry began.

After obsessing over Kate Spade jewelry for a while, I then developed a major crush on her handbags!  I have to be completely frank with all of you.  My first Kate Spade handbag purchase was made for a giveaway on Instagram.  Some of you may remember the #katespadelemonadegiveaway.  I coordinated this summer giveaway with a few other San Francisco Bay Area fashionistas and one winner was randomly selected to receive a gorgeous Kate Spade painterly lemon tote and lemon drop earrings.  I instantly fell in love with the handbag and wanted one for myself…and so my love for Kate Spade handbags started.

Now that I was completely hooked on her jewelry and handbags, I decided it was time to try on some of her stunning clothing.  In particular, I really took a liking to the feminine and flirty style of her fit and flare dresses.  My first purchase was the coral and white striped Leora dress.  From the moment I opened the box, I knew I would love this dress!  As with all of her designs, you know you are getting top quality clothing that is well made with a particular attention to the small details that make her collection so fabulous!

Several jewelry, handbag, and clothing purchases later, I fast forward to today’s post.  I am wearing one of my favorite Kate Spade dresses – the Tanner.  This dress is fun and feminine with a fit and flare style in a beautiful navy and white floral pattern.  My favorite part about this dress is the crisscross back which is adorned with a big pretty bow!  I paired it with some matching blue ankle strap heels and I am ready for a party!

So my love and obsession with Kate Spade continues.  Who knows, my next purchase may be shoes…uh ohhhh…watch out!  I am now one of her biggest fans!

Enjoy Shopping and your Weekend Fashionistas!

Fall Arrivals & Sale at The Limited

Have you checked out the new arrivals at The Limited?  If you haven't stopped in for a while, I suggest you run to the nearest store or quickly grab your coffee and get online to check them out!  If you are looking for rich and beautiful autumn colors, patterns and textures to add to your fall wardrobe, you cannot pass up this sale!  All jackets, skirts, pants, and dresses are buy one get one (BOGO) free and all tops and sweaters are 30% off!   That's the kind of sale that will satisfy my retail therapy needs!

I instantly fell in love with this check pencil skirt in rich colors of burgundy and orange.  It comes in regular, petite, and tall sizes and is available in three fall plaid color palette combinations. (P.S.  I picked up the camel plaid too! : ) I paired it up with a lightweight wool/acrylic cardigan in a warm camel color.  These comfortable cardigans are perfect for fall and come in a variety of coordinating colors for the utmost wardbrobe versatility!

So what about the shoes?  I picked up these burgundy suede Steve Madden booties last year and the color goes perfectly with this skirt (check the shop link below - you can still get the burgundy color)!  This outfit would also look fabulous with a cute pair of heels, flats, or leather boots for the perfect fall style!  Also, when the weather gets cooler, don't forget to put on your colored tights and warm scarves!  I guess I am officially in the mood for fall now!

Enjoy shopping!

Lace Trend

One of the biggest fashion trends that emerged this past year is the delicate, feminine, and romantic look of lace.  Lace is a classic and historical texture that has been used in lingerie and clothing for centuries.  This past year, it made a welcome comeback in fashion showing up in delicate accent details and dainty trims.  Today, I am sharing a gorgeous ivory lace scalloped dress from one of my favorite designers – Adrianna Papell

Adrianna’s single mission is to design clothes that “make every woman feel beautiful...with an artisanal attention to detail, her collection is infused with and elegance and flair that empowers women of all ages and silhouettes to feel their best”

I love this dress from the romantic satin trim pinched waist to the rolling scalloped detail on the hem and sleeves.  It works well for any occasion – a baby shower, a date night out, a birthday celebration, or to wear in the office.  Today’s look is inspired by summer paired with lacey bow detailed wedges and minimal accessories to complete the look.

Are you inspired by the lovely and romantic look of lace?  I have done some shopping and am sharing some of my favorite lace dresses below.  I hope you all are having a terrific weekend!

Enjoy Shopping!
