March Style: Heels

Happy March everyone!  Are you all ready to spring forward this weekend?  I sure am!  I prefer the longer days of spring and summer and of course the warmer weather ahead!  I just feel more productive when I get home from work and there is still some daylight left in my day!  It's a good time to walk the dog, get some exercise, do some outdoor grilling for dinner...I'm sure the time change has a positive impact on my attitude and motivation to get things done!  

On a separate note, the month of March brings us St. Patrick's Day and since I am Irish I like to celebrate!  Our family tradition, that was started by my folks when I was a kid, is to have a corned beef and cabbage dinner with red potatoes and carrots followed by a nice dark Irish beer such as Guiness!  What are your St. Patrick's Day traditions and how do you celebrate it?  

Don't forget to wear your green!  Today, I am rounding up some of my favorite heels to help you celebrate this holiday and the month of March!  Honestly, green is a color I wear all year round!

Floral Romper

If you are ready for spring, kick up your peep toe wedges!!  I know I am ready for warmer weather and I couldn't be more excited about soft pastel colors, sandals, shorts, pedicures, sunnies, straw hats, and spring's hottest trend...the romper!  

If there is one style essential I had to choose for my spring wardrobe this coming season, it would be a floral romper!  This white floral print sleeveless playsuit from Choies is gorgeous and it is under $25!  I styled it two ways.  The look on the left is more of a casual beach inspired style, while the look on the right is a great way to dress it up for a date night out!  Either way, you will look stunning! Which look do you like best?

Instagram OOTD Roundup: Week of February 16, 2015

I hope you all had a fantastic Valentines Day and enjoyed the Presidents Day weekend!  I had a 3 day weekend but ended up staying at home for a "staycation" which sometimes is the best way to spend your time off!  I was able to catch up on cleaning and organizing which always makes me feel so much better!

Winter Sweater Dress

During winter,  I live in jeans and warm tunic sweaters and typically bundle up with a blanket scarf and a warm coat or vest.  This has literally become my uniform lately!  However, I was cleaning out my closet the other day and found this light sweater dress!  It was a good reminder to me that dresses and skirts have a place in my winter wardrobe too! Wear your favorite snuggly pair of fleece tights or leggings and add your favorite neck warmer!  I am wearing mine with a pair of dark chocolate riding boots and thick wool socks to keep my tootsies warm!  If it's raining out, slip on a pair of your favorite colorful rainboots and grab your umbrella!  Lastly, don't forget a nice warm coat!  This is the perfect time to opt for a punch of color to brighten up your winter mood!

Valentine's Gifts for Her

Today on the blog, I'm sharing some of my favorite Valentine's Day gift ideas for her!  I made it pretty simple so you can shop all of these gifts at one store... Nordstrom!  One stop..one shop!  Who doesn't love that?  I also included gift ideas for every wallet size, so there is something here for everyone to enjoy! 

A dozen roses, some chocolates, and/or wine are always greatly appreciated!  However, just like kids at Christmas, everyone loves to unwrap a personable surprise!

Instagram OOTD Roundup: Week of January 19, 2015

I know it's still January...but is it too early to wish summer weather was here already?  I live in the San Francisco Bay Area and our winters are very mild to say the least.  We've had a major water drought for two years now and really could use another rain storm like the one we had in late November/early December (minus the flooding).  However, mother nature has other ideas.  

I spent this past weekend celebrating my father in law's 84th birthday at one of his favorite restaurants, Sam's Chowder House.  Located on Highway 1 in Half Moon Bay, this classic seafood house is known for their infamous clam chowder, lobster rolls & outdoor patio dining overlooking the Pacific Ocean.  The weather on Saturday was absolutely gorgeous...73 degrees, sunny, and very spring like.  After dining, we spent some time frolicking on the beach with the kids and watched the surfers ride the waves.  The views of the Pacific Ocean are absolutely breathtaking and the sunsets are incredible.  If you plan on visiting the San Francisco Bay Area, I highly suggest you make reservations in advance and plan to stop and dine at this local favorite restaurant.  Bring your bikes and take a ride up the coast.  You will not be disappointed.
