Hot Temps!!

It' really heating up here in the San Francisco Bay Area reaching temperatures over 100 degrees in some inland cities!  On days like this, it's best to stay cool and stay inside if you can!  Today I opted for my go-to summer style - shorts, a tank top, and sandals.  You may be asking, "can she wear that to work?"  The answer is "no".  I sometimes work from home, especially on "spare the air days".  I work for a fabulous Silicon Valley company that promotes work life flexibility and is environmentally conscious.  That's really important to me given I am a full-time working mom with two kids.

Stay cool and do your part to keep the environment and air clean!  Consider ride sharing, biking to work (if it's no too hot), public transportation, or work from home if  your company culture supports that!  I hope you all are having a fabulous start to this week!  It's a short work week for a lot of us and I am very much looking forward to the 4th of July long weekend!

Trending on Thursday: Pineapple Passion

Today's "Trending on Thursday" topic is everyone's current favorite fruit...pineapples!  Designers have certainly jumped on the pineapple express using these good fortune symbols in jewelry, clothing, shoes, accessories, and home décor design...and why not?  Pineapples symbolize hospitality, friendliness, graciousness, and an open welcome!  Personally for me, they invoke fond memories of our family trips to Hawaii when I was younger.  They remind me of palm trees dancing in warm tropical breezes, white sand caught between my tan toes, and beautiful sunset luaus with my beloved late father, my mom, and my siblings.  Isn't it funny how one symbol can evoke such emotion and passion?

I decided to share a few of my favorite fashionable pineapple designs which you can shop at the links below.  Tell me what you think?  Do you have a pineapple passion?  I do!

Leaves, Lace, and Leopard

I live in shorts in the summertime and I absolutely love all of the fun prints and patterns I am seeing in my favorite stores and catalogs this season!  Floral prints, geometric patterns, nautical anchors, pink flamingos, and pineapples...I love them all!!

Today I am wearing these fabulous green banana leaf print twill shorts paired with a cool lace front tank top, both available at +JCPenney. I added leopard spots with my favorite +Tory Burch clutch and sandals to accessorize and complete the overall "jungle-chic" look.

I hope you all are having a great week so far!  It's hump day and we are half way to the weekend!  Make it a great day!

On Tuesdays We Wear Tulle!

On Tuesdays we wear tulle!  It's time to pull out your terrific tulle skirts and show us how you style them for summer time!  I picked up this perfectly pink tulle skirt from my good friend Paige on Instagram.  She created a fun fashion challenge called "Tullesday" and invites everyone to participate!  Look for the #tullesday hashtag on Instagram today and join in on the excitement!

I love seeing how everyone styles their tulle skirts!  Don't be afraid to be creative and have some fun!  I decided to wear mine with a graphic print tank top and jean jacket.  The summertime temperature here in the San Francisco bay area can vary quite drastically from day to night.  Therefore, it's always a good idea to have layers!  I added a gorgeous statement necklace and a colorful pair of snakeskin high heels for a little sparkle and swag!  What do you think?

I think the style possibilities are endless!  Tulle is no longer just for princesses and ballerinas.  Although, I admit it's fun to feel like one for a day!  I would love to see how you style your tulle!  Send me your pictures on email, contact me on Instagram, or just comment below and tell me how you would style your tulle skirt!  I would love to hear from you!

I hope you all have a fabulous "Tullesday"!  Have fun and be creative!

Live Colorfully!

TGIF!!  I hope you all are enjoying your weekend so far!  My week was busy with business travel so it's nice to be home.  However, I now have a few chores and tasks to catch up on including unpacking, laundry, dishes, birthday parties, etc. A woman's job is never done, right?

Today I was in the mood for stripes and brights.  I am adoring this Kate Spade 3/4" sleeve Devon top I picked up for a steal at her Surprise Sale earlier this month!  I ended up getting it in yellow too since it was such as great price.  I adore the bow detail on the neckline and the length is perfect.  I decided to tuck it in my shorts and accessorize with a gold belt but it could very well be worn both ways.

I pumped up the color with these neon green classic twill shorts from JCPenney, which are one of my summer favorites!  I love mixing neon and bright colors and thought this was a perfect color compliment.  The weather has definitely been heating up here in the San Francisco Bay Area, so shorts were a must today!

During my trip to Carmel this past week, I visited the Kate Spade store on Ocean Street and found the most beautiful neon pink Park Avenue Beau bag on sale!  There it was - perfectly displayed on it's own glass shelf, twinkling under the lights, and calling my name!  I have been wanting a hot pink handbag for some time now and since this was on sale and just so darling, I had to snatch it!

I hope you all enjoy the rest of your weekend!  Remember to live colorfully!

Hayley

Flipping For Flamingos!

I may be going out on a "limb" here to say that "flamingos" are on trend.  My niece definitely thinks I am a little crazy but it seems that some designers are a bit tickled pink too! Today's "Trending on Thursday" topic is "Flipping for Flamingos".  This is the 2nd installment of my weekly blog series where we take a closer look at current style trends.

I recently purchased a Tory Burch tunic in a blue flamingo print and I instantly fell in love with the  whimsical pattern!  Flamingos have always reminded me of Florida - exuding a cool, confident, colorful Miami flair!  In my search for more, I stumbled across an abundance of summer inspired flamingo style and I have to say that I am a little infactuated.  Today I am sharing with you some of my favorite picks!

Let me know what you think.  Are you flipping for flamingo too?

Have a fun day and don't forget to follow San Francisco Bay Style (social media links on website).  I would love to hear from you!

Kate Spade in Carmel

What would be a trip to Carmel without a little retail therapy?  Carmel by the Sea is filled with lovely boutiques, fabulous restaurants, quaint little coffee shops, and art galleries.  One of my favorite places to visit is the Kate Spade boutique on Ocean Drive.  I honestly can't go into one of these boutiques and walk out empty handed, especially when there is a great sale!

What do you think of the Kate Spade Leora dress I picked up for 50% off?  This summer weekend style frock is made of comfortable stretchable cotton and detailed with adorable cap sleeves, an elegant bateau neckline, and a smocked waist which gives it a fun and flirty look! I would have to say that this dress is summer style perfect!  Pair it with some flips flops or a cute pair of Keds and you have a fabulous summer weekend style look!

I plan to share more pictures of our adventures in the beautiful town of Carmel later this week on the blog!  Enjoy your day!

A Trip to Carmel: I've Got the Blues!

Hello lovelies!  I am out of town this week visiting the beautiful city of Carmel, CA for a business conference. Today, we visited Carmel By The Sea. This European influenced town is full of quaint little coffee shops, amazing art galleries, spectacular restaurants, and lovely boutiques.  At the end of Ocean Drive, there is an expansive beach with spectacular views of the ocean. The infamous green cliffs of Pebble Beach Golf Resort can be seen in the distance.  We had a lite lunch at one of the many fabulous restaurants Carmel by the Sea has to offer and finished up our day with a little retail therapy visiting two of my favorite stores - Lush Cosmetics and Kate Spade New York.

We traveled back to the Bernardus Lodge, our hotel in Carmel Valley, which is located in the wine country of this region.  The Bernardus Lodge has excellent amenities including a full service spa and restaurant on site.  If you are ever in Carmel, I would highly recommend this as a place to stay!

Today I wore my pleated ponte fit and flare dress from J.Crew.  The color of this dress is so vibrant and stunning - it reminds me of the deep blue ocean water.  Therefore, I thought it would be fitting and perfect to pack along.

I hope you all are having a fabulous week!  Happy Tuesday!

Hayley

What's Black, White, and Red All Over?

What's black, white, and red all over?  My outfit of course!!  There's something so fabulous and elegant about black and white.  Mixed together with polka dots, geometric patterns, and/or stripes, black and white is always a classic and beautiful look!  I like to add pops of bright colors to complete this style.  I chose to accessorize with a red skinny bow belt, a red shrug to keep my shoulders warm at night, and some black patent leather peep toes. However, wouldn't this outfit also look stunning with a pair of gorgeous wedges, casual flip flops, or classic flats mixed with hot pink, electric blue, or sunny yellow?  The color pop choices are absolutely endless when wearing black and white!

Don't forget, this Sunday is Father's Day!  Do something special for the "dad" in your life!  I wish you all a splendid weekend!

Trending on Thursday

I have decided to start a weekly series called "Trending on Thursday" where I will feature fashion, beauty, and style trends.  The first installment is "Neon Pretties".

So I have to admit, I wore my fair share of neon style back in my school days.  Yes, I admit, I am a product of the 80's! I had big permy hair, loved aqua net, and wore lots of lace and neon inspired mostly by Madonna!

It's 2014 now and just like many other trends, neon has made a BIG comeback and I for one am thrilled about that!!  I just love these bright and vibrant colors in fashion and accessories!!

Have you got your "ne-on"?  I created a collage of some of my favorites to give your some inspiration.  Neon doesn't have to be over powering.  A simple pop of an electric color in a handbag, a pair of shoes, or jewelry is a fun way to add some neon to your style!

Be bright and get your "ne-on"!!

Hayley❤️

California Dreamin'

As soon as I get home from work, the first thing I do is change into comfy clothes!  This is the time I'm usually fixing dinner, throwing in loads of laundry, walking the dog, and helping the kids with their homework! During these hot summer months, there's nothing more comfortable and cool than an Old Navy graphic tank top and shorts!  These gems are available in various colors and fun graphics and the length is perfect - long enough to cover your hips and make you look slimmer!

I love styling these tank tops with different looks.  I opted for a simple and casual summer look paired with sneakers and a fun statement necklace to add some sparkle!  However, add a jean denim jacket and a pair of  rockstar skinny jeans and you're ready for cooler nights.  To be honest, these tank tops will go with just about anything - including my pajama pants, I am wearing right now as I am writing this post!! (by the way - they come in tall sizes!!)

Old Navy is San Francisco based and one of my favorite places to shop.  So naturally, you will see many more posts featuring their fabulous styles on my blog!  Well, its time to say goodnight!  Tomorrow is my kids last day of school and we have a California Dreamin' summer ahead!!

The Neon Pink Flamingo

I cannot tell you how much I love fit and flare dresses!!  They look and feel so feminine and pretty making me want to twirl around like a princess!  This embroidered floral racer dress from J.Crew is no exception.  I have a big crush on this cute pink floral pattern -  it's called "neon flamingo".  What a perfect name!  The color is absolutely stunning - a bright neon pink which is sure to catch everyone's attention and make you look fabulous!  The craftsmanship on this dress is exquisite, from the beautiful pink flower embroidery down to the flared hem line.  I should also mention that I am a rather tall girl - 5'10 to be exact.  The length on this dress is perfect for me!

I would love to hear from you!  Please let me know if you have any comments or questions!  Hope you are all having a terrific Tuesday!!

With Love ,
Hayley

Geometric Versatility

The great thing about this JCPenney geometric pattern sleeveless top is that it is so color versatile!  I love the fact that I can pair this with so many different outfits.  Today, I am wearing white jeans, but imagine how cute this would look with distressed blue jeans, hot pink colored shorts, a coral pair of capris, or a black skirt for more work appropriate attire!  The possibilities are endless!

Let's don't forget to accessorize either!  I opted for more classic gold and crystal accessories.  What do you think of this fantastic roman numeral cuff?  My coral ballet flats add a pop of color to my toes but a cute pair of gold sandals or wedges would also be a perfect summer look!

Happy Monday!  Wishing you all a great week ahead!

Life's a Beach

It's past Memorial Day and technically that means you can break out the white pants!  To be honest, I wear white pants all year long!  I don't follow any fashion rules!  This time, I am pairing my white pants with my favorite color mint and a nautical beach bag!  I wish I were headed to the beach this weekend but who says you can't carry around a beach bag every day?

I am so happy that nautical style is on trend again!  I sure do love starfish, boats, and anchors, don't you?  I really love nautical style in home decor as well!   I recently redecorated my kids bathroom in a beach theme and I don't think I will ever grow tired of it!!

This is my favorite beach bag!  I wish I could tell you where to go get it but it's a few years old and has seen plenty of wet bathing suits and sand!  There are a lot if cute nautical themed beach bags out there!  I am providing a few of my picks in the link below!

I hope you all are having a fabulous weekend!  Summer is almost here and that means a visit to the Santa Cruz Beach Boardwalk is in my near future!  I'll be sure to blog about it when we go!!

Floral Friday

Nothing screams "spring" like a beautiful floral print sheath dress. This sleeveless one is made by one if my favorite designers for JCPenney: Alyx.  It's made of polyester and spandex so it conforms to your shape very nicely.  I paired this with some simple accessories because after all, the dress speaks for itself!  By the way, shoes don't always have to be matchy matchy!  Brighten your toes up with a cute pair of colored flats, pumps, or sandals!  I chose yellow with this ensemble which just reminds me of the warm sun in spring!  Happy Friday!
