Hollywood Movie Glam Home Decor

My taste in home décor has definitely evolved over the years and now I find myself leaning towards more modern and minimalist style.  Mid-century modern style has always been a favorite look of mine.  It’s my dream to someday purchase a 1950’s fixer upper and restore it to its original beauty and glory, adding bright pops of color in every room!  It’s a cheerful and playful style but very much sophisticated.

I found these vintage cotton candy pink mid-century modern club chairs and just fell in love.  I always wanted a pink sofa but getting these accent chairs may be a great compromise.  Here are a few other pink beauties you may love just as much here and here.  I went with a Hollywood movie glam theme in my design below.  Cinematography is actually a personal interest of mine and I majored in film and television production in college.  I always try to add home décor that reflects my personality and/or interests – then you have a story to tell about it!  here are some of my favorite cinema inspired accents that would be perfect for a home theater or any movie designed room here, here, and here!

Mid-century modern is always bright and colorful with the use of paint, wallpaper, accents, and art.  Here are a few of my favorite wall art pieces that would go perfectly in any retro styled room here, here, and here.

Happy Decorating,

Hayley

40's Inspired Retro Style

Location: Redwood City Train Station & Historic Downtown District
I am so excited to collaborate with Karina Dresses on this post today! Did you know you can get an instant 15% off by simply signing up for the Karina Nation mailing list?  That's a great way to save! The hardest decision will be picking your favorite style!

I opted for the "Audrey" dress in a black palette with neutral polka dots.  I really love the retro inspired fit and who doesn't love polka dots?  The Audrey dress is a sleeveless, knee-length dress with a v-neck front and back.  I chose to style it with a classic trench coat, black bow high heels, and my favorite red lipstick!  I kept to a classic neutral palette but I also plan to wear it again with fun punches of color!  Wouldn't it look darling with this clutch, these red high heels, and this coat?  I really think the style possibilities are endless!

All of Karina's dresses are American made and crafted with love from Brooklyn, New York.  There is a perfect fit and style for all shapes and sizes.  In fact, if you already know your body shape, it's a breeze to shop for the perfect dress.  Just select your body shape on their home page (e.g. hourglass, oval, triangle, etc.) and a list of suggested dresses will be displayed for you!  It can't be easier than that!

I would like to thank Karina Dresses for sponsoring this post!

Shabby Apple & Ice Cream

Location: Sweets & Eats, Niles Canyon, CA
Today on San Francisco Bay Style, I am thrilled to team up with Shabby Apple at a local old fashioned ice cream parlor, Sweets & Eats, in the historic town of Niles, CA.  I am honored to showcase one of Shabby Apple’s many beautiful dresses from their beautiful collection of clothing and accessories.

Shabby Apple has captured my heart with their vintage and retro inspired styles which are a throwback to the golden age of fashion.  If you are not familiar with Shabby Apple you need to be!  I knew from the moment I laid my eyes on their website that they were a perfect match for my personal style!  They offer a diverse selection of feminine and fun clothing and accessories including specialty shops for swimwear and brides to be!  The prints are vibrant and beautiful, the styles are classic and elegant, and you are sure to find the perfect outfit for any occasion that will suit your personality and taste!

This is one of my favorite dresses from Shabby Apple’s "Gardenias & Gingham” collection.  This gorgeous sunny yellow fit and flare dress is called the “In a Cinch Dress” and can be found on their website here!   I love the vibrant sunflower yellow color which is perfect for spring and summer!  It’s made of stretch poplin, 97% cotton and 3% spandex, which makes it super cool and comfortable to wear in the hotter months of summer!  My favorite details about this dress are the ruffled tulip short sleeves and big cinched bow in the back!  These darling details give the dress a feminine and retro style that I adore!  I decided to pair it up with matching yellow flats for a monochromatic look and accessorize with pearls to keep to the retro themed style.  Here are a few of my other favorite shoe styles here, here, and here.  You can shop my pearl accessories and similar styles below!

My husband and I took the kids out for a Sunday drive this past weekend and we decided to stop in for a scoop at Sweets and Eats, an old fashioned ice cream parlor located in the historic town of Niles, CA, about 35 miles south of San Francisco.  Niles retains a small town feel anchored by a tight-knit community. If you enjoy a bit of history in the form of Charlie Chaplin, antique shops, vintage cars, historic trains/railroads, or just good old fashioned ice cream, you definitely want to visit here.  Make sure you stop by and get a scoop of ice cream or a sundae at Sweets and Eats!  The ice cream is fabulous and you will thoroughly enjoy the friendly service and atmosphere!  I recently visited Niles Canyon Railway in this post here if you would like to see more of what this historic small town charm is all about!!

If you love this dress, you will be overwhelmed by so many other cute clothing and accessories from Shabby Apple.  I always have such a hard time narrowing down which dress and/or color to buy!  They are all so stunning and beautiful!  I would like to thank Shabby Apple for sponsoring this post!   You can visit their website here and follow them on Instagram here!

I hope you all had a fantastic and sunny weekend!  Enjoy shopping!

Xoxoxo,

Hayley
